Everyone has imagination, but not everyone uses it. I enjoy losing myself in someone else's imagination. If I read an amazing story but find it's being stifled by head-hopping or poor grammar or other structural roadblocks,it makes me happy when I can come in to help the author craft their story and showcase the author’s imagination to the delight of their readers while also producing a high-quality product. 

As an editor, my primary concern is maintaining the author’s voice throughout. I can recommend changes to conform with Chicago Manual of Style or other writing style guidelines, but if it interferes with the author’s tone or voice, I will discuss with the author how best we can approach the situation. In the end, the manuscript is the author’s blood, sweat, and tears and should remain true to their vision.

I write my own paranormal (with and without romance) books under the pen name "KC Freeman," which helps me stay more connected to my authors. While honing my writing skills, I discovered I enjoy helping other authors to bring their book babies to life just as much as I enjoy seeing my own stories spring to life.
