Whether you have a seedling of an idea, a messy first draft, or a manuscript that’s nearly done, I’m here to help. I provide detail-oriented, authentic feedback and actionable recommendations on next steps. Together we’ll break through blocks and build momentum.
As a book editor, I’ve mentored authors penning novels, scripts, essays, and non-fiction projects. I especially love working with memoir writers, and I’m particularly drawn to subjects like creativity, identity, culture, art, nature, wellness, politics, and psychology.
My unique constellation of experiences gives me a deep understanding of story structure, and I know firsthand the challenges writers face. I co-wrote the Emmy-nominated documentary, California State of Mind, and the romantic comedy, Mango Kiss. I’ve also served as a consulting producer on over 90 short documentary projects and as the Global Marketing Director for the motion picture division at Eastman Kodak, I collaborated on crafting marketing initiatives for film projects ranging from Star Wars: The Force Awakens to indie favorites like The Florida Project and Academy Award-winner, La La Land.
After decades of working as a creative coach and story consultant, I’m sensitive to the distinct demands of each creative phase and customize my approach to meet your goals.
I guide writers through the process, using techniques from my best-selling book, The Story Cycle Method: A Practical Playbook for Writers and Dreamers. I always emphasize what’s working well and take special care to respect your voice.
